OUR FARM Standards
With a firm foundation and rich history in Indonesian coffee behind her, the founder of Javanese Coffee, Noor Asry Soeharman-Wivell had aspired to forge ahead and build upon the past to develop a new future for Indonesian coffee.
That dream developed into a highly progressive, all natural, one of a kind; quality driven system to farming as well as distributing coffee. One of the key factors was a holistic approach with vertical integration from the farm all the way to the consumer.
In pursuing this dream Javanese Coffee has implemented the following steps and procedures.

Ecology and Sustainability
Soil and environmental sustainability are supported through polycultural farming, organic fertilizers, shade trees, specialized hand pruning techniques and much more.
Community support through mutualistic naturally non-gmo polyculture farming allows our farm to be maintained while the local community can harvest and alternate crops as a source of food and income.

Quality Control
Hand weeding, pruning, maintenance and picking are meticulously done by hand with only the ripest cherries being individually selected.
Quality controls and standards are built into every process which is the result of extensive research, education and practice so that we may consistently provide a product that not only is incredible the first time but each and every time after that.
Harvested cherries begin processing within 6 hours of being picked.

Worker Training
Highly trained pickers meticulously select only the ripe cherries and must return repeatedly day after day until the particular harvest is completed.
We pride ourselves on having some of the best paid, most trained workers as we believe that a higher paid and better trained worker equals better coffee.

Constant Innovation
Multiple processing techniques and infrastructure allow us to process our ripe cherries as fully washed, honey or natural and hence opening up a whole new range of flavor profiles and unique beans not available before.
